Cooking notes

  • The preparation of this muffin is the same as the chiffon method. The separated egg white and egg yolk must be clean, and there should be no water or oil in the basin.
  • When stirring the batter, don’t draw circles; use the technique of turning or drawing Zigzag to mix quickly.
  • When frying the muffins, use a medium-to-small fire. I use the A4 BOX multi-function pan. If not, use a flat pan. You must use a nonstick pan.
  • You always need to be watchful when reheating the eggs. You can be sure it will cook safely if you cook it within a short time. If you let it stay in the pans for a long time, then you’ll have it being dry and hard.
  • Always remember to use the nonstick spray to make sure the eggs don’t stick on the pan’s surface. It will make it easy to turn the eggs, you know.

FAQs

Can you freeze the egg muffins?

I like this kind of egg muffins just because you can even have it stay in the fridge for up to a week. Notice too that they are always 100% freezer friendly. So you can keep them even longer in the freezer. Always remember to keep them in a freezer-safe bag.

So when you want to eat them, you can unwrap them and then cover them in a wet paper towel. You should then set it in the oven to reheat. However, if this was in the freezer, then you should thaw it first.

How should you store the egg muffins?

Please put them in an air-tight container or even a zip lock bag and then set them in the fridge to eat within 5 days. When you need to reheat and eat it again, then you should get it out of the fridge and then set it in the microwave to reheat it.

But is it okay to reheat the egg muffins?

Of course, you will reheat it right when you know how your microwave works. But in most cases, a simple 30 seconds is enough to do so. And when you are going to use the wet paper towel, you should reheat it within a minute.

Can I use other toppings?

This is one of the most versatile options of toppings to make it even better. The reason why we say this is because there are so many ways to make the egg muffin.

So some people add bacon and spinach, ham sausage and spinach or carrots, others add ham and mozzarella, cilantro, spring onions and spinach, and many other options of choice.

Which is the best variation?

In the first paragraph, we told you that this is one of the most versatile choices of the egg recipe, and we mean it. You can make it as healthy as you would like to. Just because I’m watching my health, I like to choose meals that I know are healthy. So often, I will choose a single protein, one veggie, and sometimes cheese to add to the egg muffin.

Protein: you can make breakfast sausage, ham, or ground beef.

Veggies: cilantro, bell peppers, mushroom, and don’t forget to use the spring onions. It makes all the difference.

Cheese: you can add mozzarella, feta, and many more.

When you use the different toppings, you will want to eat them even every morning if you can.

  • Add on the toast, and you have a whole meal, especially if you have a glass of milk or juice on the side.
  • Greek yogurt is another option.
  • Some oatmeal will make the perfect addition too.
